From two motorbike crashes, one business on the edge of collapse and a body broken in half

To Building the System That Saved My LifeIf you'd met me before 2021, you would've met a completely different person.I was a high-performing athlete and business owner who had health figured out. I competed in powerlifting, bench pressed 335 lbs at a bodyweight of 185 lbs, and I knew how to gain weight, lose weight, and manipulate my body composition at will.I was already running my coaching business, training hard & consistently, and I trusted my body completely, taking that trust for granted.Then in 2021 two serious motorcycle accidents turned everything upside down.Especially the second one when a car ran a crossed the yellow light and hit me directly, breaking both my ankles and motorbike in half, sealing my fate for the next two years…I had to relearn movements I once took for granted, rebuild strength from almost nothing and grind through the entire rehab.But ironically enough, it wasn't the hardest part.When Your Body Stops CooperatingThe real damage was what happened in the months and years that followed. I was running my business, waking up between 4-5 a.m., working nonstop until 10 p.m., relying on caffeine and stimulants just to maintain output while my sleep and recovery deteriorated hand in hand.And slowly though, but insidiously, things started falling apart.If you're an accomplished high-performer who's been running on caffeine and brute-forced execution for years while telling yourself "I'll get to my health later"...you probably already lived through what comes next.I gained weight. Not the kind I wanted to see. It was all fat. Eventually I reached 217 lbs at roughly 25% body fat.Chronic hunger that felt like something inside my body was stealing nutrients before I could use them.And what I ate wasn't helping either, since grabbing whatever was fastest and most convenient had become the default when every waking minute counted.Then the rest piled on:

  • Digestive issues that wouldn't resolve

  • Red rashes spreading across my skin

  • Losing half of my hair

  • Brain fog so thick I could barely think straight

  • Anxiety out of nowhere

  • Heart palpitations

  • Dizziness and heavy breathing

  • Insomnia and sleep paralysis

  • Back pain, shoulder pain, full-body stiffness

  • Cardio so poor that walking upstairs left me winded

Everything the Industry Told Me Would Work...Didn't

So I did what most of you would do when you're desperate. I looked for solutions.Over the following 18 months I tried Keto, Paleo, Gluten-free, Elimination protocols, Zero sugar, the Vertical Diet. I followed every single one aggressively with full discipline.None of them solved my problems.My energy never returned, my symptoms persisted, and my social life became awkward because of the constant restrictions and rules to follow.And I realized something that mattered even MORE: I couldn't imagine following any of these approaches for the rest of my life. If I hated living this way, then anyone I'd eventually coach would hate it too.At first I blamed myself. Eventually that turned into something darker…I started believing I might be permanently brokenSounds familiar? The Moment Everything Changed

One cold November morning in 2022 I stood in front of my shower cabin and took a progress photo. Bloated face, exhausted eyes and a waist wider than I wanted to admit.That photo hurt more than being hit by a car.For nearly two years I'd been telling myself "I've got this." But looking at that image, my ego completely gave out and I finally admitted the truth:"No. I haven't..."And strangely, that was exactly when the last glimmer of hope showed up.Because my thoughts didn't stop there. What my inner voice was trying to shout out loud was:"I haven't got this YET."That single word changed everything.YET.I hadn't solved the problem because I'd been too proud to fully face reality.After that morning, everything shifted.The real breakthrough didn't come from another nutrition approach,But asking a completely different question.Instead of "What should I eat?" I started asking: "What is preventing my body from producing and using energy efficiently?"Fat loss → energy. Recovery → energy. Sleep quality → energy. Digestion → energy. Athleticism, leadership, confidence → it's all energy.Every protocol I'd tried had been treating the surfaceBut for the real answer I had to dig deeper…I stopped following dogmatic frameworks entirely and ran the most comprehensive self-experiment I could design. Full blood panels, gut microbiome mapping, sleep tracking, weekly body measurements, training performance, daily movement, step counts, recovery metrics.I paid attention to EVERYTHING, because I wanted clarity.Facts instead of assumptions without having to guess what the hell is wrong with me.Calorie counting went out the window. I stopped logging food into an app and started developing what I now call Intuitive Nutrition. Instead of asking "Is this food good or bad?" I started asking "How does this serve my goals in my current context?"I optimized for three things above all else:

  • Sustainability (Can I do this for life?)

  • Time efficiency (Does this fit into a 12+ hour workday?)

  • Adaptability (Can this easily change when life gets chaotic?)

Instead of forcing my body into a framework, I started building a framework around my body.The first 25 pounds came off within roughly 3 months. Energy improved, symptoms started fading and I genuinely thought I'd cracked it.Then I hit another wall.Fat loss plateaued, my energy got cut in half, and something just felt really…off.The big picture, the habits, the system…They were all working fine.But it took me a while to realize something in the day-to-day wasn't clicking.Then came the moment that finally revealed the last missing piece…One day after a fasted morning workout, I collapsed on the kitchen floor.My brother had to help me up, finish preparing our go-to high-protein chilli wraps, and literally forced me to eat.Within minutes I felt like a completely different person. Veins on my forearms reappeared and my energy flooded back.It hit me hard when I realized I had accidentally turned my personalized system into another rigid framework. I became too dogmatic with intermittent fasting. I was listening to my bloodwork but wasn't listening closely enough to my body's real-time feedback.Feedback that would have told me that “Hey dummy, if you train in the morning, it's an incredibly stupid idea to do that fueled by salt and water alone” or “Why delay carbs when you need the the most RIGHT NOW”All those little thingsThat don't only differ from person to personBut also show a different picture on a Monday morning and a Saturday night.That became the final missing piece. Sustainability alone gets you partway. Adaptability is what finishes the job.This is what made the system complete.Within ~6 months I transformed entirely

  • 217 lbs → 167 lbs (50 lbs dropped by the final photoshoot)

  • ~25% body fat → 9%

  • MAINTAINING 9-12% at 170-180 lbs year-round

  • Sleep scores from the 50s & 60s → consistently in the 90s

  • Deep sleep doubled (10%->25%), REM sleep dramatically improved (12%->28%)

  • Resting heart rate dropped from the 70s → low 50s

  • Hair and gut both recovered fully

  • Red rashes, chronic hunger, brain fog, anxiety... all GONE

  • Biomarkers normalized across the board

  • My business doubled that year (& been growing ever since)

All while eating my favorite foods, not counting a single calorie, not training more than 2-3 hours a week, not saying no to social events, travel, business dinners,And still giving in to some indulgences with a slice of cheesecake or a glass of Malbec on a warm summer night.And most importantly, my entire philosophy changed.


Why I Created the Demi Cycle Protocol

The Demi Cycle Protocol didn't come from a textbook or a weekend certification or those washed-up health influencers’ cult building playbook.It emerged from two motorcycle accidents, wheels and ankles broken in half (hence "Demi Cycle"), 50 lbs of undesired weight, 18 months of failed nutrition approaches, a progress photo that shattered my ego, a collapse on the kitchen floor, and hundreds of blood panels, gut tests, sleep studies, and biomarker assessments across myself and 100+ clients.
